- Reduce the portion size of the foods
- Reduce intake of salt and sugar
- Reduce the quantity of oil/ghee being used
- Reduce the intake of carbohydates (like wheat, rice etc)

- Low skim milk
- Low skim paneer (cottage cheese)
- Dal (lentils)
- Practice some form of physical activity daily (walking, cycling, swimming)
- Try to use stairs instead of lifts
